Not a Lot
So this week’s song is a perfect example of how I sometimes very loosely base lyrical content on real life events. It’s usually a specific story to represent a more general whole, which is actually a synecdoche I think. Although, I have been experiencing a situation like this with one person in particular (why she doesn’t necessarily want to be with someone that writes 15 songs a week about how we don’t exist totally baffles me), I really mean for the song to be an allusion to the seemingly never ending “back and forth” in dating. I sent the track to some people with the subject something like “happy song, yay”, although it’s not happy at all, only somewhat in comparison to my other recent tunes. Still take it in while you can, I promise next week to have you once again pondering mortality and these girl or guy problems will be trivial garbage. Huzzah!
Lyrics:
So I see her once a week
The other days are dark and bleak
When I found her I was a king
But that don’t mean anything
She wants me
She wants me not
She wants love but not a lot
Asking questions constantly
Cause everything is bittersweet
Just what is she looking for?
Cause I don’t know anymore
So I try to say to her
If there’s someone you prefer
Can i still see you once a week?
The other days are dark and bleak
Damn awesome Paul, This is, so far for me, The most compelling listen I have heard in a long time.
As Pushkin said (russian writer):the less one loves a woman, the more she likes him..well,nice song!
Thanks so much! So encouraging for me to get feedback
