Forgotten Child
This is about trying to let go of childish things and my obsession with sadness, the metaphor being that I’m abandoning my child in a supermarket. Not sad at all.
Child, i left you in the frozen aisle
You had your eyes closed
I’ve been gone a while
You don’t know i carried for many miles
Now and for always
Run through these hallways
Eat tons of ice cream
And stay up too late
Live for the moment
Don’t care bout mistakes
So meek and mild
Forgotten Child
Child remember all the things you you learned
Keep looking both ways, and you won’t get hurt
You won’t see me till we’re in the dirt
Now and for always
Run through these hallways
Eat tons of ice cream
And stay up too late
Live for the moment
Don’t care bout mistakes
So meek and mild
Forgotten Child
Say goodbye
